Manuel Mendive, Cuban, 1944-

One of the most acclaimed artists in Cuba, Mendive works in sculpture, painting, performance and many other mediums. His exuberant imagery has its roots in the Santeria religion, and he is recognized worldwide, having earned the Chevalier des Arts et Lettres from France in 1994.
