Arlés del Rio was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. Although self-taught, Arles' work is amazing in terms of his ability to use a variety of artistic media to produce a body of work that combines an understanding of conceptual art with an authentic way to convey his personal message. He has participated in many national and international exhibitions including the solo exhibitions In Need of Other Airs at La Cabaña Fortress in Havana, 2015; Nearness in Times Square, New York, 2014; and Hoping that Things Fall from the Sky at La Cabaña Fortress in Havana, 2012. His work is part of private and institutional collections in several countries including the US, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland and Greece.
